Devastated Dad Speaks Out After Infant Daughter Killed by Family Dog: 'I'd Give My Life to Bring My Baby Back' (1)

A father in Ohio is speaking out just days after the family dog killed his infant daughter.

"I'd give my life to bring my baby back," Kameron Turner wrote on Facebook just one day after the death of his seven-month-old daughter Elizah.

The fatal attack occurred on the morning of April 9 at a home in Columbus.

Body camera footage released by the Columbus Police Department shows a man greeting the responding officer and explaining that a dog attacked a baby at the home that morning.

He can then be seen informing the officer that he trapped one of the dogs in a black car and that there are two more on the property.

The timestamp on the body camera video shows that officers arrived at the scene just after 11:30 a.m. that morning.

Elizah Turner was pronounced dead at 11:43 a.m. that same morning, a spokesperson for the Franklin County Coroner's Office tells PEOPLE.

That spokesperson also confirmed that the infant was first taken to a nearby fire station by a parent and from there transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Jennifer Melvin declared Elizah dead shortly after the baby arrived at the hospital, said the spokesperson.

All three dogs who were at the property are now in the custody of Franklin Animal Control, and that agency is currently leading the investigation into the incident, according Sgt. James Fuquaof the CPD.

Franklin Animal Control did not respond to a request for comment.

Fundraisers have now been launched to help the girl's parents with burial costs. The couple also has a 4-year-old son.

As for the young girl's father, he continues to speak about how devastating this has been on his Facebook page.

"All I want to say is please everyone who has babies hold them tight and never leave their side," writes Turner in one post. "This pain is so unbearable."

He also reveals that the family had just moved into their new home and were excited about starting a new chapter in their life at the time of this tragedy,

"We have a long road ahead of us and I really don’t understand why god puts us through this s***. It's gonna be the worse road ahead of us, s*** has not stopped," Turner writes. "I just don’t understand why people who do right have to go through this pain."
